Update – May 2014 – Friends Me*Friends+MeSince I wrote this article, there have been a few new services that can help you update your other social networks from Google+. The one I highly recommend is a service called Friends Me*. This turns Google+ into a full-fledged social media management tool. It allows you to selectively post to Google+ pages, Twitter, LinkedIn (profiles, pages, and groups), Facebook (profiles, pages, and groups), Tumblr, and even Appdotnet.
It has a scheduling system similar to Buffer and intelligently transfers to other networks (including using full images, headers and descriptions). It's something I use every day and couldn't live without. Google+ icon Ever wanted to post to employee data Twitter or Facebook (or LinkedIn) from Google+? It's certainly a cool feature, although I'm not a big fan of posting to multiple social networks at the same time. There are many ways to post to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social networks simultaneously. However, this misses the fact that Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are very different social networks. For example, do all of your friends on Facebook really want to see all of your Tweets as Facebook updates?
Do your LinkedIn contacts really want to see your Facebook updates? However, I think there are strong arguments for selective synchronization between social networks. I regularly use Selective Tweets to post to Facebook from Twitter using the hashtag. This means that I have complete control over when I want my Tweets to be posted on Facebook. I mentioned Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, but what about Google+? Google's social media platform is still the new kid on the block, and their API (the system that allows apps to communicate and retrieve information from Google+) is still in its infancy.
